Gabriel Steele is an award-winning visual artist, author and lecturer. His work and research investigate the constructs of male identity.  As a former model and commercial photographer, he has a unique perspective on the dynamic nuances involved in the construction of creative content. His published journal and accompanying documentary film Man Made Man: Masculinity in Fashion Photography, examine these changing characteristics, looking at images and their creators, both past and present.

A long-time lecturer at Ryerson University’s School of Fashion, Gabriel challenges the new authors of fashion imagery to redefine aesthetics. Gabriel currently lives and works in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
